4.0 Flight Operations and Regulations

FLIGHT REQUEST (FREQ) (for scheduled and charter flights)

Pilots are to submit a frep each week via Pegasus. This can be from the automated Flight Assignment Sytem (FASS), Scheduled Timetable (FREQ) or a Charter Request. Usually, this consists of one flight (one cycle, meaning one sector only) selected from the current Eurostar Aviation Timetable.

More information on your Flight requests can be extracted from the latest timetable. Reviewing the timetable reveals, for example, scheduled time of departure and arrival, aircraft to be used, flight duration, possible en-route stops, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

As regards to pilot check-in times (to the aircraft), the following table lists the required time for each flight type. This time period will enable the pilot to plan the flight and complete some checklists before taxiing and departure.

Flight Type Check-In Time
Domestic flights 15 minutes *
International flights 20 minutes *

* All flights operating online with VATSIM (ATC) shall add a minimum of 10 minutes to the above Check in time.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Flight numbers are attached to hubs as follows:

EV1XXX Flights attached to London Gatwick (United Kingdom area)
EV2XXX Flights attached to Amsterdam Schiphol (BENelux area)
EV3XXX Flights attached to Frankfurt (Switzerland Austria Germany area)
EV4XXX Flights attached to Frankfurt / Hong Kong (Cargo operations)
EV5XXX Flights attached to Stockholm (SCAndinavia area)
EV6XXX Flights attached to Paris (FRAnce area)
EV7XXX Flights attached to Barcelona (ESPania area)
EV8XXX Flights attached to Athens (GREek area)

This system allows us to give greater route diversity for every Area.

If a charter flight is to be operated, it must be requested from your Area Manager, regardless of the area of departure. Charter Flight numbers use EV9XXX.

FLIGHT REPORTING

_After the completion of any flight, a standard-format Flight Report (FREP) is essential for statistical records, future reference or performance evaluation. A report form is available here, ESA Flight Report It is therefore important for all pilots to compile a FREP after any flight. Eurostar FREP's have been designed to be simple yet satisfactory for analysis. Please take your time to study the following Eurostar FREP formality.

Use of TIME ACCELERATION

The usage of the time acceleration utility in FS is permitted on flights exceeding 60 minutes, as long as it is not engaged within 20 minutes of departure or arrival. Please note that for the health, comfort and safety of pilots, Eurostar Aviation strictly prohibits smoking on all its flights.
